Purpose of the Position
This position will direct the day-to-day accounting functions of the facility in accordance with current acceptable accounting and cost reimbursement principles as related to the long-term care operation.
Understands the work of the position and follows schedules/instructions as directed by the CFO.
Responsible for oversight of daily accounting functions including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Payroll along with supervising all positions assigned to these functions.
Responsible for monthly cash and investment reconciliations.
Continually work with managers on budgeting and ongoing review of financial reports.
Assists with annual budget preparation consisting of compiling information as well as forecasting revenue and expenses for the budget year.
Consistent monitoring and review of operations to analyze areas for potential efficiencies.
Interpret and analyze data in order to address trends.
Assist in the development of policies and procedures.
Assist in preparation of annual cost reports and tax returns.
Monitor internal controls to ensure compliance.
Responsible for the general ledger entries.
Ability to be visible in all departments and build relationships to ensure a team atmosphere.
Report to CFO any changes in daily operations.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
A working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, Medicare and Medicaid regulations as they relate to costs and billing issues.
