CBRE is seeking a Hotels Analyst in our Downtown Toronto
office to support the CBRE Hotels team within the Valuation & Advisory
Services (VAS) department. The candidate will be expected to conduct research
for use by Directors in appraisal and advisory projects, assist with
maintenance and internal operations of our databases, and may be required to
provide administrative support if necessary.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
Undergraduate degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with a recognized hospitality and/or tourism program is preferred but not required. Consideration will also be given to applicants with experience in the hospitality industry, accommodation operations or tourism-related work experience.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and analytical skills. Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable and courteous service to clients. Ability to effectively present information.
Requires average knowledge of financial terms and principles relative to the hospitality industry. Conducts basic financial analysis. Ability to understand and analyze hotel financial statements. Basic understanding of hotel operation fundamentals. Will work towards developing the ability to prepare reasonable and defensible forecasts of income and expenses.
Ability to understand and carry out general instructions in standard situations. Ability to solve problems in standard situations. Requires intermediate analytical and quantitative skills. Strong interest in learning to analyze economic, lodging, and area trends to arrive at supportable supply and demand forecasts.
OTHER SKILLS and/or ABILITIES
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft office including MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Familiarity with MS Access would be an asset.
Basic programing skills would be an asset.
Valid class 5 drivers license with a reliable mode of transportation
Demonstrated ability to prioritize and organize work to meet deadlines
Ability to work as part of a team to meet individual and office objective
High work ethic with attention to detail and demonstrated problem-solving skills
